Contact details: Narodowy Instytut Fryderyka Chopina The Fryderyk Chopin Institute was brought into being in 2001 by a resolution of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland. Its activities include scholarly research and the popularising of knowledge concerning Fryderyk Chopin and his music, publishing work, the organising of concerts, festivals, musicological conferences and master-class courses, and also the gathering of archive materials, memorabilia and copies of the great composer’s works. It manages the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw and also its branches: the Chopin family drawing-room and Fryderyk Chopin’s birthplace at Żelazowa Wola. It collaborates with Chopin institutes and organisations around the world, supervises the utilization of the image and name of Fryderyk Chopin, and runs both the Internet Chopin Information Centre and an Internet store, offering records and books. |
